Agriculture Course Booklets

Students studying an agriculture course at Bishop Burton benefit from our industry expertise and partnerships, as well as outstanding facilities and resources.

We have been named as a national centre of excellence under the government’s Institutes of Technology (IoT) programme, meaning Bishop Burton is delivering high-level skills training using the latest innovative technology.

Farm developments also include the new high-quality pig unit. This forms part of Bishop Burton’s extensive mixed-use farm estate, which is split between arable and grassland for livestock.

Agriculture degree students at University Centre Bishop Burton are given the platform to enhance their technical abilities and understanding of the wider agricultural business, including enterprise management and the role farming has in the climate change debate.
They also work with the Centre for Agricultural Innovation (CAI), in partnership with NFU Mutual, on research projects to tackle major issues facing the industry. These projects – many of which are put into practice in the sector – enable students to enhance their research skills and forge links with farming companies which can be highly beneficial when launching a career.
