The course

This course is designed for spray operators and pest control technicians who wish to apply slug pellets and granular pesticides.

Upon successful completion of this course candidates will receive an NPTC Level Two Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides - Granular Application PA4. This qualification is issued for life, however NPTC recommend that refresher training is carried out every three to four years.

  • Safe driving practice
  • Preparation of prime mover
  • Identification and selection of calibration techniques
  • Identification and rectification of faults
  • Post-operation maintenance

You must be a minimum of 16 years old and have completed the Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides - Foundation Unit PA1 prior to attending this course.

You will be required to be on campus for two days (one day to complete the course and one day for the assessment).

  • Type 6 limited splash coverall
  • Nitrile rubber gloves (0.5mm thick, 300mm long)
  • Wellies
  • Faceshield
You will be able to progress to study: Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides Ground Crop Sprayer PA2 NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides Hand Held Applicator PA6
This course costs £269 per person.
