Our friendly wardens help you settle into college life, organise activities and offer someone to talk to. Wardens are available throughout the night, with 24/7 campus security for added reassurance.

Life on campus

Regular shopping trips and weekend activities help you enjoy life beyond your course. There may also be opportunities to work on campus, including with our catering and equine teams.

How much does student accommodation cost?

Accommodation fees for the 2026/27 academic year are:

En-suite: £7,104

Shared bathroom: £6,317

Both options include a £1,000 food allowance, loaded onto your student ID: £400 in each of the first two terms and £200 in the third. This contributes towards your food purchases, and you can top up online.

Fees are paid in three termly instalments: 40% at the start of each of the first two terms and 20% at the start of the third.

A £250 reservation fee is required to complete your application. This becomes your damage deposit and is held until the end of the academic year. Portable Appliance Testing costs £2.50 per item, deducted from your deposit at year-end.

Can I get help with accommodation costs?

Our Residential Bursary may help college-level students on specialist land-based courses who cannot reasonably travel to college each day.

Your household income must be below £40,000 to qualify, and awards are subject to a financial assessment.

Find out about the Residential Bursary.

How do I apply for accommodation?

Once you have accepted your college place, you can apply for accommodation online.

Applications open at the end of October for the following academic year and remain open until accommodation is full. A waiting list then operates.

Applying does not guarantee a room. We will discuss your suitability before confirming a place and refund your deposit if you are considered unsuitable.

Rated outstanding by Ofsted for care standards

In our last Ofsted inspection in 2025, the care and support given to our students was rated as ‘outstanding’.

Inspectors found students living on campus at college “are happy, dedicated to their courses, make excellent progress and are full of praise for the college and its staff”.

The visit found that:

  • Overall experiences and progress of young people are rated Outstanding, with a deeply embedded relationship-based culture creating a vibrant, supportive learning community.
  • Every student is known personally by staff, creating a genuine sense of belonging, confidence and independence, with wardens described as “like second parents”.
  • Exceptional pastoral and well-being support ensures there is no stigma around accessing help, enabling students to remain engaged with their studies during personal challenges or crises.
  • Safeguarding is proactive, unified and embedded across both campuses, with strong leadership, clear accountability and close partnership working with external agencies.
  • Innovative use of technology and training — including virtual reality safeguarding tools, advanced web-filtering systems and regular bite-sized staff updates — strengthens student protection.
  • Extensive enrichment opportunities, including sport, weekend activities and subsidised overseas expeditions, provide a richer college experience, with parents describing the college as “like an extended family”.

Portable Appliance Testing

To make sure that everyone living on campus is safe, we organise Portable Appliance Testing, which takes place during the first term. This costs £2.50 per item, which will be deducted from your room deposit at the end of the year.
