The course

Are you looking to use boom sprayers on crops or turfs? This course is for you.

The qualification is issued for life, however NPTC recommend that refresher training is carried out every three to four years.

Course Information

  • General safety
  • Pump types and maintenance
  • Hitching the sprayer to the tractor
  • After work cleaning and lubrication of the sprayer
  • Preparation for work
  • Field operation
  • Checking and storing
  • Setting and calibration

You will need to be a minimum of 16 years old and have tractor driving ability.

Candidates must have completed the Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides - Foundation Unit PA1 prior to attending this course.

You will be required to be on campus for two days (one day to complete the course and one day for an assessment).

You will be able to go on to study: Level 2 Award in Safe Use of Pesticides Slug Pellet PA4 Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides Hand Held Applicator PA6
This course costs £249 per person.
