BTEC Level Three in Land-Based Technology
Benjamin was a pupil at Beverley Grammar School, where he developed a passion for engineering in several extra-curricular activities. He won an award from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers for his creation of a small robot which can go into overhead air conditioning vents to dislodge dust and dirt blocking the air flow.
Q: What do you like about Bishop Burton College?
A: I really enjoy it at Bishop Burton College. The equipment and materials available to assist you with your work are really good, I like the surroundings and the area is well maintained.
Q: What is the best thing about your course?
A: It enables you to get into the industry, either through work experience or with a full-time job at the end of your course. Over the summer I worked at an engineering company – a placement I got through one of my tutors.
Q: What are your hopes for the future? A: I plan to further my studies and then join the British Army at an advanced level as a combat engineer.
