Students develop their skills in the college’s purpose-built construction workshop - complete with all the tools required for bricklaying and plastering - building up the knowledge base and practical skills needed to go into the industry.

They gain further experience on real building projects and work experience placements, as well as during competitions, and many secure work before they have even finished their course.

Bishop Burton College's Construction department has excellent industry links, which provide work experience, apprenticeships, supplies and guest speakers for our students. Companies we work with include Beal Homes, British Gypsum, Hobson and Porter, Ibstock, MKM Building Supplies and Persimmon Homes.
