This course is designed to encourage your development as an exciting, innovative designer, with the skills to succeed in a sector where drive, marketplace knowledge and individuality are essential.

    • Pattern development
    • Fashion marketing
    • English and Maths, as required.
  • Entry Requirements

    Four GCSEs at grade 4 or C or equivalent, preferably including English and Maths, or a relevant BTEC Level 2 / First Diploma. A satisfactory reference is also needed.

  • Pathways

    A range of pathways are available, dependent on your qualifications.

    • One-year Extended Certificate
    • One-year Foundation Diploma
    • Two-year Diploma
    • Two-year Extended Diploma.
  • Progression

    You can also study the subject at degree-level at the college, with our FdA Fashion and Clothing Design.

  • Careers

    Work as a fashion and clothing designer, dressmaker, accessory or footwear designer, milliner, clothing technologist, retail buyer, visual merchandiser and many more. You could specialise in an area of choice such as childrenswear, menswear or womenswear, work on a self-employed basis, for a large organisation or an independent retailer.
