An apprenticeship would allow you to gain real skills whilst working and being paid a wage.

You would study and be assessed for your practical skills in the workplace, then study for your technical certificates at Bishop Burton one day per week.

Students are required to have an apprenticeship role with a business to undertake an apprenticeship. To undertake an apprenticeship, you can:

  • Source an apprenticeship with a local company and then apply via our application form to express an interest in studying with us to complete it
  • Apply for a particular apprenticeship via our application form and if we hear of a relevant vacancy then we can point you in the right direction.

Apprentice Nursery Person (Horticulture)

Salary: £161.85 per week

Working Week: 39 hours perk week. Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm and Friday 8am - 3.30pm.

FULL-TIME VINEYARD APPRENTICE

Working Week: Full-time

As a Vineyard Apprentice, you will work alongside the Estate Manager the candidate will learn all aspects of viticulture. Tending to vines across our vineyard sites and also gaining both experience and knowledge of the winery. Job description: (in brief) * Hands-on involvement of every aspect of vineyard work from planting, pruning, tying, thinning, and harvesting - General maintenance and upkeep of the vineyard and trellising. * The job will entail grass cutting with the quad bike and the use of a small vineyard tractor. *Out of season there will be work on the farm and the wedding site. * Must have a methodical approach to work and understand the job is a physical role that needs both hard work and dedication in all types of weather. * There will be times the role will require the right candidate to work on their own and take initiative. CANDIDATE WILL BE ENROLLED ONTO BRAND NEW COURSE AT PLUMPTON COLLEGE and will come out with a qualification in viticulture. Although some of the course will be delivered online, the candidate will be required to attend a number of week stays at Plumpton (which is near Brighton).
