The British Showjumping Association is the governing body for the sport in Great Britain.

It formulates the rules and codes of practise under which all affiliated competitions are held. Its purpose is to improve and maintain the standards of showjumping, whilst encouraging members of all standards and at all levels to enjoy safe, fair competition.

Many of the showjumping competitions held at Bishop Burton College are affiliated to the British Showjumping Association.

Typically, there are approximately 4,500 shows held per year with over 400,000 starters and prize money in excess of £3million.
