Course Information
- To develop your knowledge and practical skills, ready for a career within the equine industry.
- Carry out and understand the principles of feeding and watering horses
- Undertake routine stable duties
- Undertake horse handling
- Fit and maintain horse tack and clothing
- Undertake work-related experience in the land-based industries
- Introduction to riding horses on the flat
- English and Maths, if not achieved at grade 4
You will need four GCSEs at grade 3 or above. You must have grade 2 or 3 in Maths, English and Science. Equivalent qualifications may also be considered.
For the riding option, you must also demonstrate a suitable level of riding. For riding, we have a maximum weight limit of 13 stone.
You will normally be in college three days a week. Weekend duties will also be timetabled, approximately one weekend day in each month.

- Riding hat (Snell or PAS015 standard)

- Dark coloured t-shirt, jumper, and coat
- Laboratory coat
- Core texts to support studies
- Small contributions (usually up to £25) to attend study visits on some modules
