Whether you want to work in animal care, training, welfare or conservation, University Centre Bishop Burton (UCBB) is a great place to start.

With UCBB’s wide range of degree programmes, you can choose courses covering key aspects of animal science, such as: behaviour, training, health, nutrition, welfare, and bioveterinary science.

Courses are delivered by expert lecturers, who have experience and contacts from their work with veterinary practices, zoos, welfare organisations, overseas voluntary projects, research facilities and small holdings.

Outstanding animal sciences facilities

Our exceptional animal sciences facilities include high-tech labs and an outstanding collection of animals, including invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.

  • Over 300 species
  • Over 1000 animals

You will also benefit from access to our commercial kennels and dog grooming unit and, because we’re a land-based college, you’ll be able to work with horses and livestock too.

"My favourite bit about UCBB is the hands-on experience you get being with the animals – you wouldn’t get this chance at other universities."
