John Sheffield

John studies Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management and is really enjoying the course. As well as developing his confidence with the animals, he is also a massive asset to the college and regularly supports with tours around the Animal Management Centre.

He said 'The course is everything I hoped for, I'm really enjoying it. My favourite animal on the unit to work with is the curly haired tarantula. When I first started at Bishop I was terrified of spiders, but now I understand the animal and am much more comfortable around them. In the future I hope to train zoo animals. During our course, we had to train an animal for one of ours units for a few months and I found the process really enjoyable. It was really rewarding seeing how far the animal had come!'
