Are you looking to develop a career in ornamental horticulture? This Horticulture T Level course, focusing on ornamental plants and landscaping, will give you the knowledge and skills you need. You'll enjoy the perfect combination of theoretical study in the classroom and hands-on experience in our dedicated horticultural facilities and with our industry partners. T Levels have been developed in collaboration with employers to meet the needs of the industry. As a Level 3 qualification equivalent to 3 A Levels, this course offers a balance of classroom theory, practical learning, and a hands-on industry placement. You will spend 55% of your time in the classroom and the other 45% involved in practical activities, including time spent in professional horticulture environments. The focus of practical activities will vary with the seasons. Additionally, T Levels carry UCAS points, allowing you to progress to university if you choose.

T Levels

T Levels have been developed in collaboration with employers to meet industry needs. They are a Level 3 qualification equivalent to 3 A Levels and offer you a balance of classroom theory, practical learning and a hands-on industry placement. You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom or working on our campus, plus 20% in the workplace. T Levels also carry UCAS points to take you on to university.

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above. These must include English and Maths.

You will learn through classroom sessions, practical work and blended learning.

You will usually be on campus four days per week.

You will need to undertake a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days) of on-the-job experience through an industry placement.
You will be assessed through formative assessments, synoptic assessments and examinations.
