Skills Bootcamp

Skills Bootcamps at a glance

What are Skills Bootcamps?

Skills Bootcamps are short training programmes that form part of the Government’s Skills for Life initiative. They help adults develop skills for employment, career progression or self-employment.

Whether you’re looking for work, changing direction or building on existing experience, a Skills Bootcamp could help you prepare for your next step.

Who can apply?

Skills Bootcamps are for adults aged 19 and over. They may be suitable if you are employed, unemployed or self-employed, depending on the programme’s eligibility requirements.

These programmes are not open to people currently undertaking an apprenticeship.

Our team will discuss your circumstances and goals with you to check whether the training is suitable.

Fees and employer contributions

Skills Bootcamps are free for eligible individual learners.

Employers putting staff forward for training may need to contribute towards the programme cost. Contact our team for confirmation of the contribution that applies to your organisation and chosen bootcamp.

Species Identification Skills Bootcamp

Build skills relevant to ecology, environmental work and conservation. Our Species Identification Skills Bootcamp is designed to support people entering the sector or developing their knowledge within an existing role.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Carry out robust surveys.
  • Support informed habitat management decisions.
  • Contribute to conservation and mitigation work.

Butchery Skills Bootcamp
