Assignments based on realistic workplace situations and scenarios build traditional and contemporary skills, techniques and processes - enabling students to produce commercial-quality designs and build their employability skills.

We will encourage and nurture design and innovation which meets the needs of contemporary employers and the informed client – and which supports freelance practice. Work experience will ensure that you gain the flexibility and breadth of knowledge required to work in the sector, whilst ‘live’ design projects and competition work develop skills in delivering high quality outcomes in response to creative briefs.

Our qualifications will equip you with practical skills in a broad range of areas, including wedding and funeral designs, hand-tied floristry, and floral arrangements. Alongside these you’ll study display techniques, conditioning, and the use of flowering and foliage plants. At the higher level you’ll study European floristry practice, sculptural approaches, and contemporary floristry design. Off-site visits and guest speakers enrich the delivery of floristry courses at all levels.
