We have a process in place to consider applicants who have not met their offer conditions, so they will not automatically be made unsuccessful. For some courses, we may be able to offer an access course which is a year long course and will help them gain access onto their chosen course the following year. Alternatively, if we are not able to offer your young person a place on their original course, we may make them an offer for a similar course instead. This is called a changed course offer, and your young person will be able to accept or decline it in UCAS Hub.
Bishop Burton accepts offers through clearing; you can find out more about Clearing on the UCAS website.
They should contact our admissions team who can talk to them about next steps.
Please contact student finance who can see up to date income related information, they will be able to ensure your young person’s loans is re - calculated based upon this new information.
Loans are paid a few weeks after the start of term times in September and January.
Your young person will only have to start paying back their student and maintenance loans once they start earning over a certain amount, more information can be found here
When they start in September, they will be given their timetable electronically, this will be for Semester 1 until the end of January, they will then receive a new timetable for semester 2 which runs from February until mid-May.
Unfortunately Universities don’t hold events like this and we are not required to inform parents or guardians of this information. If you wanted to find this information out, we suggest speaking to your young person.
Our team of expert tutors are always on hand to assist students, we also provide additional study skill support is available via booking appointment. We also offer life skills support for students who are struggling to manage other areas of their life.
Safeguarding is one of our top priorities at Bishop Burton University Centre, we regularly work with students and help them to protect their own safety whilst on campus. We have regular visits from the sexual health and well being teams that work directly with our students to keep them safe.
