Exceptional facilities

You’ll study and work on our commercial mixed-use farm and full-time students have the option to live here too, with dedicated accommodation for 16+ and 18+ college level students.

You’ll have access to our multi-million pound Centre for Precision Agriculture, which is part of the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology, giving you access to the latest agricultural precision technologies and farming solutions. 

We are also currently developing a new Centre for Pig Industry Training in partnership with White Rose Farms Ltd.

Industry Experience and Work Placements

Your tutors at Bishop Burton have current industry expertise from careers in farming and we have strong links in the agricultural sector. You’ll have opportunities to take part in work placements with local agricultural businesses, helping you gain professional experience and insight into different career pathways.

Our courses also include visits, guest speakers and industry projects, giving you a wider understanding of modern agriculture and helping you prepare for life after college.

Hands-On Learning and Industry Experience

You’ll learn through a mix of classroom teaching, independent study and hands-on practical experience on the Bishop Burton College working farm, as well as through external industry placements.

Our T Levels in Agriculture (equivalent to three A Levels) are a great way to build real industry knowledge. You’ll spend around 20% of your course on a meaningful placement with an employer, giving you valuable workplace experience and helping you develop the skills needed for a career in modern agriculture.

Studying agriculture opens the door to a wide range of careers, including:
