This course provides students with a specialist work-related focus and covers key knowledge and practical skills. It is designed to provide students with the grounding they need to progress to a higher sports course.

- English and Maths, as required.
One year full-time, normally in college three days a week.
Students can progress to study at Level 2 in Sport or Public Services.
Work as a fitness instructor, leisure centre assistant, lifeguard, sports coach and many more. More senior positions can then be pursued following further development.
A genuine passion for the subject and one satisfactory reference is needed.

Leia is passionate about sport and has been actively involved as a player, coach and volunteer throughout her time at Bishop Burton College.
She has captained the College netball academy team, represented Great Britain Colleges in netball and has also volunteered in rugby league, winning the RFL Young Volunteer Award.
In 2016, Leia was crowned ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ at the annual Bishop Burton College Sports Awards.
