UCBB Welcome Week 2022

A huge welcome to our new students and a warm welcome back to those returning after summer! 

We know moving away from home or starting at a new place can be a bit scary but our Welcome Week crew are here to help you feel at home at UCBB, introduce you to your fellow students and have a great time along the way.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED! 

You can take part in as much or as little as you want, just make sure you're wearing your 'Welcome Week' wristband which will be handed to you when you come onto campus.

SUNDAY 11 SEPT

If you're a Level 5 or 6 residential student this will be your first day on campus.

MONDAY 12 SEPT

If you're a Level 5 and 6 student and you're not living on campus this will be your first day.

6PM - 9PM  Pub quiz and beer pong Digby Watts 

 

TUESDAY 13 SEPT

Get ready for the arrival of the Level 4 and MSc students tommorrow and grab your new timetable.

12PM - 1PM  Head over to Digby Watts to experience some of our new suppliers  Digby Watts

Don't forget we want everything to look amazing for our new students so please keep everything neat and tidy. 

WEDNESDAY 14 SEPT

If you’re a Level 4 or MSc residential student this will be your first day here with us. The plan is to get you up to speed with living on campus and help you start to settle in.

On arrival please follow the signs for the Residential Welcome Event (Digby Watts)
4PM - 5PM Meet the Welcome Week crew over a world-famous Bishop Burton Bronkie and a cuppa! Conference Hall 
5PM - 6PM The Welcome Week crew will take you on a campus tour, so you can get the low down on where everything is and help you get your bearings. This is optional so there's no need to join if you prefer not to. Digby Watts
8PM - 10PM We thought a relaxing evening getting to know one another was in order for your first night. Chill out around the firepit in the Walled Garden, where we'll be toasting marshmallows and making smores! Plus, there'll be a gin bar on hand for a cheeky tipple or two. Walled Garden

THURSDAY 15 SEPT

If you're a Level 4 or MSc student not living on campus then you'll join us for the first time today.

10AM - 12PM A chance to meet all your fellow new starters and some of our returing Level 5 and 6 students. The Welcome Week crew have a stack of fun planned to break the ice UCBB Quad

1PM - 4PM More time with your fellow students Conference Hall 
9PM - Midnight

Party time!

Get your thinking caps on as our annual party night is always fancy dress! This year's party theme was chosen by our current students and is 'Dress as something beginning with the first letter of your name' so start having a think about your outfit.

FRIDAY 16 SEPT

Today’s a day for getting ready for term to start the following week so there will be a bit of paperwork to cover off and we’ll share your timetable with you.

10PM Head into Beverley to Sheriff Bar.
We haven't provided transport but its only a short 10-minute taxi ride from UCBB to Beverley.

  • Level 4 residential students arrive

Thursday 15 September - 9AM - 4PM - UCBB Quad 

  • Level 4 students' induction and welcome 
  • MSc Year 1 ACBT (FdSc and Higher Education Certificate Year 1) Induction
  • Year 1 Teacher Training Student induction and welcome (evening)

Friday 16 September - 10AM - 4PM - UCBB Quad 

  • Level 4 Induction

Clothing & Equipment

Before you begin your programme, you’ll need to make sure you’re prepared with the right equipment. Many of our programmes need specialist health and safety clothing, but we’ve made it simple - some of your essentials and college-branded clothing can be bought from our online shop!

Stay on campus!

Did you know, even if you're not a residential student, you can stay in our halls of residence during Welcome Week from £20 per person per night.

These are on a first-come-first-serve basis, if you'd like to book a room drop our Reception team an email to book your room today!
