Bishop Burton College launches exciting education partnership with Hull FC

Bishop Burton College is proud to announce a new partnership with Hull FC, bringing together high-quality education and elite-level sport to create an outstanding development pathway for aspiring athletes.

Beginning this September, the partnership will see young players from Hull FC’s Academy, College Development Academy and U18s Female Pathway complete their further education studies at the college.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in providing players with the skills, qualifications and support they need to thrive in both sporting and professional careers.

Students enrolled through the new pathway will benefit from a holistic development programme, gaining access to:

  • A wide range of vocational and academic courses tailored to meet future career aspirations
  • A campus environment supported by industry experts, former professional athletes and experienced coaches
  • Cutting-edge facilities and elite-level sport infrastructure
  • Continued use of Hull FC’s Rugby League Performance, Education and Community Hub via the club’s partnership with the University of Hull

“This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for both Bishop Burton College and Hull FC’s Youth Development Programmes,” said Hull FC’s Head of Youth, Richard Tate.

“By combining Bishop Burton’s recognised top performing education standards with high-quality teaching and tailored academic support, we’re supporting an environment where young athletes can thrive both on and off the field.

“Most importantly, this new partnership is about helping develop well-rounded individuals. We’re committed to promoting a better balance between education, sport and social lives, ensuring all our young people are supported in every aspect of their journey.”

Bishop Burton College already runs elite-level academies in football, rugby and netball, and the new agreement with Hull FC further strengthens its position as a leader in combining sport with education.

“We can’t wait to see the progress the players make – both academically and in their sport. This partnership with a professional Super League club is a fantastic opportunity that will also enhance our curriculum through guest speakers, work placements and coaching delivered by Hull FC’s professional athletes.”

Students and families have already begun visiting the college to explore the facilities and learn more about the diverse educational opportunities available.
