14 Jul 2025 | College

Bishop Burton College is proud to announce its formal membership of The Chartered Institution for Further Education, recognising the college’s long-standing commitment to excellence in vocational and technical education

The Chartered Institution for Further Education is the only body to award chartered status to the most distinguished further education providers in the UK.

Membership is granted following a rigorous assessment process that recognises a college’s contribution to the sector, the quality of its provision and its impact on learners and the wider community.

Principal and Chief Executive of Bishop Burton College, Danny Metters, attended the official induction ceremony at the historic Apothecaries’ Hall in London, where the college was formally welcomed into the Institution.

Speaking about the honour, Danny said: “We are incredibly proud to have joined The Chartered Institution for Further Education.

“This membership is an endorsement of our work and values. It recognises the outstanding efforts of our staff and the achievements of our students. It also affirms our ongoing mission to deliver high-quality technical and vocational education that prepares students for rewarding careers and meaningful contributions to their communities.”

Established 70 years ago, Bishop Burton College has developed a national reputation as a centre of excellence in land-based education.

The college offers programmes across agriculture, animal management, engineering, equine and sport, alongside an expansive range of other subject areas.

The college prides itself on strong partnerships with industry, ensuring its curriculum remains relevant and aligned with real-world workforce demands.
