Monty Roberts and Kelly Marks are regular visitors with the team from Intelligent Horsemanship, the ever popular original horse-whisperer sharing his techniques with captivated audiences.

Frequent participants at our numerous variety of competitions include Eventers Nicola Wilson, Oliver Townend and Gary Parsonage at our Horse Trials; members of the Whitaker family and the ever popular Geoff Billington competing at our British Showjumping affiliated competitions. Geoff also returns to deliver his humorous and educational lecture demonstrations.

We have welcomed British Horseball with their exciting and fast moving sport, viewed as a mixture of equestrianism and rugby, since we hosted an under 16 International in 2010 alongside the FEI European Championship for Ponies. A regular tournament is held during the College Town and Country weekend, which is becoming a firm fixture both nationally and internationally.

Our £3million Bishop Burton Arena was opened in October 2008 by HRH Princess Anne and is the College’s largest single building
Horses have 16 muscles in each ear, allowing them to rotate 180 degrees.

London 2012 Olympic Games

A legacy from our inclusion in the London 2012 Pre Games Training Camp Guide has been the continued growth of our annual FEI Para Dressage Competition. In 2015, for the first time we are ran a 3* competition, which was an Olympic qualifier for Rio 2016.

European Championships

Building on the success of the FEI Pony European Championships in 2010, we were very proud to host the 2014 FEI European Eventing Championships for Juniors. A further chance for Championships course designer Eric Winter to develop the fantastic park and woodland at Bishop Burton for equestrian competition.
