Are you teaching students in a Further Education Skills sector provider? This apprenticeship is for you.
Whether you are teaching a technical or vocational subject, you need to have a sound understanding of pedagogy and regularly engage with robust evidence of effective teaching and learning methods and practice relevant to their subject area(s).
This apprenticeship will help you to develop knowledge and skills that you will need to succeed as a Learning and Skills Teacher.
Course Information
- To develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours as required for employment and future career progression within teaching.
- Key legislation
- The pedagogical theory and how to apply this theory to practice
- How to support contextualized opportunities to develop English and Maths
- The principles of designing, planning, and organising curriculum
- Strategies to engage and challenge all learners
- Techniques to involve learners in taking ownership of their own progress
- Principles and practices of assessment and feedback
- Use innovative and up to date digital and online technologies in a way that is safe to improve teaching, learning and assessment
- Design and use resources that are inclusive and add value to learners development
You must be aged 18+ and have suitable employment in a Further Education and Skills organisation.
You will need GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent in English and Maths.
If you have not achieved these or do not have certificates then you will be required to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths during your apprenticeship.
The course is delivered using online portfolios, distanced activities and face to face contact.
The course content is taught face-to-face in the college for 6 hours a week. The off-the-job hours will supplement your full-time teaching hours.
