The College was named winner of the highly prestigious UK Excellence Award in 2015. Winning the award for the second time, following on from the previous success in 2011, meant we became the first organisation to win the British Quality Foundation (BQF) award twice.
In its assessment of the College, the BQF highlighted the College's 'engaged and empowered people based around shared values'.
It said: "Bishop Burton's 'Core Values' underpin everything that the College does. Everyone we met, whether in individual discussions or focus groups, mentioned the importance of the values. They are understood and respected. The values combined with the concept of 'One Team, One Bishop Burton', and backed up by real empowerment of staff, have a very positive effect on people's motivation".
