University Centre student buying coffee Digby Watts 1

Food and Drink

Feeling peckish? Bishop Burton has everything you need to stay fuelled throughout the day.

We have five different cafes on campus offering a wider range of food and drink.

Head to Meadows for a freshly made wrap, Bishop’s Table for a roast dinner just as good as (maybe even better) your mum’s, grab a sandwich or some chips from Canters or chill out in Ostler’s with delicious fresh coffee and one of our famous bronkies – the most delicious brownie/cookie hybrid.

University Centre Bishop Burton students also have exclusive use of Digby Watt's, which is a great space to relax.

Special dietary requirements

Our Executive Chef works hard to offer a wide range of food across the campus to suit everyone, including delicious vegan options and gluten-free alternatives!

If you have a query or special request, please get in touch with our Student Recruitment team - we’ll do our best to cater for you.

A sustainable approach

Our catering team are constantly working to improve their approach to ensure they are as sustainable as possible. This includes:

  • Using local suppliers wherever possible to reduce the miles our ingredients travel and to support the local economy
  • Selling pre-packed sandwiches that are packaged using plastic free eco packaging
  • Recycling all of our waste oil
  • Streamlining our supply chain to reduce the number of deliveries
  • Providing cutlery and crockery wherever possible to reduce waste

Paying for food and drink

Our catering outlets are cashless, but you're welcome to pay by credit or debit card. We also accept contactless payment if you'd prefer to pay with your phone or watch.

In addition to this, you can choose to pay with your student ID card. Just top up your ID card with money by paying through our online shop or by visiting our Finance Office in the Main Building.

Explore our cafes

You'll be able to pop into our cafes during our Open Events, but in the meantime, get a flavour for our eating outlets by taking a 360° tour of Bishop's Table, which is open to college-level and University Centre students.
