7 Oct 2021 | College

Congratulations to our Level 3 Agriculture student Matthew Anderson who has been shortlisted in the Young Farmer of the Year category in the Yorkshire Post Rural Awards.

The Awards take place at the Pavilions of Harrogate tomorrow evening when Matthew will learn if he is the winner.

When he’s not studying at College, Matthew works on his family’s dairy farm in Richmond where he is involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running. He worked on the farm and other local farms over the summer holidays, gaining valuable work experience.

The Young Farmer of the Year is open to people under 35 who have displayed a real talent for farming. Entrants were asked to show how they worked towards their chosen career path and outline their plans for building a resilient, sustainable business within the changing face of agriculture.
