The Course

This course is ideal for students who are requiring academic or social support and are new to a college environment or who have progressed from Entry level 3 programmes.

Students learn how to develop their practical skills in a range of land based subjects, as well as developing personal skills, preparing for employment opportunities and time management skills.

The programme provides a mix of theory and practical sessions, working with small animals, farm livestock, horses and horticulture.

    • Environmental study
    • Maths and English, as required.
  • Entry Requirements

    No formal entry requirements required.

  • Duration

    One year full time. Normally three days per week in college.

  • Equipment required

    For your course, you will need:

    • One pair of steel toe cap boots
    • One pair of college-branded overalls
    • One pair of gardening gloves
    • All other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided
    • Folder with dividers to organise your work and assessments
    • Stationery including pens, pencils and a notepad for use in class
