The Course

This course is intended for students who are looking to start a career within the Floristry industry. 

Through this qualification students will learn about different flowers and plants and how to look after them. Students will also learn that there is more to floristry than flowers for florists to be successful, they need to understand their tools, environment and the finishing touches that make a difference. 

With this, students will develop an understanding of design principals and the skills needed to apply these to the design and creation of floristry products. Students will gain an understanding of how floristry businesses operate and develop the skills needed to interact with customers to identify their needs. 

Students may or may not have any previous knowledge or experience in floristry. 

This course is closed for applications for the 2022/23 academic year.

    • Preparing to create floristry designs
    • Creating floristry designs
    • Customer service
    • Caring for and maintaining floristry products
    • Floristry designs principals
    • Maths and/or English, as required.
  • Entry Requirements

    Four GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent, including grade 2 or 3 in English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications may alos be considered. 

  • Progression

    To further your studies you could progress onto the Level 3 in Floistry. 

  • Careers

    Work in positions of responsibility within retail florists, in wedding and other event floristry, in hotels and hospitality. You could also set up your own business or work as a freelance florist.
