The Course

This qualification will enable you to further develop your bricklaying skills. It will provide you with the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills, including health and safety and environmental issues relating to construction. 

Work experience forms a large part of the study programme with learners needing to complete over 300 hours off-site work experience. You will be expected to secure this prior to commencing the course if possible.

    • Exploring health, safety and welfare in construction
    • Construction drawing techniques
    • Set out masonry structures
    • Erect masonry structures
    • Sustainability in the construction Industry
    • Maths and / or English (if not achieved at grade 4).
  • Entry Requirements

    Students are required to complete the Level 1 Bricklaying qualification before commencing this course.

  • Progression

    Students have a range of further study options, including the Level 3 Diploma in Bricklaying or one of our plastering courses.

  • Careers

    Work as a qualified bricklayer, with the potential to develop your career across the wider construction industry in roles such as site foreman, building supervisor, building control officer, construction plant operator and many more.

  • Equipment required

    For your course, you will need:

    • Warm clothing and hard-wearing trousers for outdoor/ workshop practicals.
    • Hard hat
    • Steel toe capped boots
    • OPTIONAL - Hi-Vis bib
