The Course

This short course provides an opportunity to learn a new skill and develop an understanding of the basics of photography.

  • What you study

    You will be introduced to camera basics, learning about the camera functions rather than using the automatic setting. You will be able to maximise the potential of our beautiful college campus to improve your photography knowledge, take better quality images and develop creative skills whilst completing specific photographic tasks. Sessions include:

    • Introduction to photography skills development
    • Introduction to camera basic functions
    • Introduction to photography terminology.
  • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however you will need to bring along your own digital camera and smart phone.
  • Duration

    6 weeks (delivered on a Saturday 9:00am - 12:00 midday).

    Start date: Saturday 15 January 2022
    Finish date: Saturday 19 February 2022

  • Progression

    There will be opportunities to further develop skills via progression on to the Developing Photography Techniques follow-on short course, focussed photography workshop days and seminars. You might also consider progressing on to the FdA Design or the HNC 3D Design programme.
