You will gain the practical skills and knowledge that are important for working as a competent dog walker.

You could also progress to further learning and training in this area.

  • What You Study

    This qualification covers the skills you will need to progress to work as a dog walker. It includes:

    • Roles and responsibilities of a professional dog walker
    • Legislation and Codes of Practice
    • Breeds and behaviour
    • Walking and controlling a dog
    • Problems, injuries and emergencies.
  • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

  • Duration

    This two-day course includes sessions from 9am - 4.30pm each day.

    The next course will run 14 - 15 April 2020.

  • Progression

    Students may progress to study City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate of Technical Competence: Pet Sitting.

  • Careers

    This course could lead to careers as a dog walker, pet sitter, animal care worker or pet retail assistant,

  • Cost

    £300 per student.

    Residential option including a one night stay is available for £350.
