The course

This newly-accredited, GCSE English Language course, which is delivered online, has been designed specifically for the over 16s and reflects the diversity of its learners.

It includes the study of contemporary fiction and non-fiction texts with up-to-date themes that are carefully and specifically chosen to appeal to the diversity and interests of each group. You will also study 19th Century non-fiction texts that are functional and the content of which will be relatable.

Furthermore, the course will provide you with the opportunity to produce a variety of creative writing pieces and help you develop your skills in writing for specific purposes, all with real-world content.

As an additional qualification, you will be offered the chance to complete the GCSE English Language (9-1) Spoken Language Endorsement. This involves preparing and delivering a short presentation on a subject of your choice.

In order to achieve the GCSE English Language qualification, you will need to be thoroughly committed to attending all classes, all of which will be geared towards helping you prepare for in-class assessments, your speaking and listening presentation and the final examination.

Please note: This is an online course.
