Safety first as students receive bulletproof vest

Students studying Public Services at Bishop Burton have taken safety to the next level after receiving a bulletproof vest from SafeGuard Armour - an international manufacturer and distributor of body armour.

The vest, used by the police, military and security professionals, was donated earlier this month to the college’s Public Services department. The team will use the vest to give its students first-hand experience of using and wearing industry-standard bullet proof equipment.

Public Services Curriculumn Leader Oliver Stokes said, “One of the things we take pride in at Bishop Burton College is preparing our students with practical vocational skills that will help them when they start their careers in industry. This bullet proof vest has given us the ability to train students in real life tactical scenarios.”

Thomas Bowman of SafeGuard Armour has said, “SafeGuard has operated internationally for over 10 years, providing over 5000 bespoke bullet proof vests to hundreds of police, security and military companies across the globe annually. Being one of the leading suppliers and manufacturers of bullet proof and protective clothing globally, we often donate our products to help educate students about their importance and durability in tactical working environments.”
