ELECTIONS have been held to find the new president of Bishop Burton College’s Student Association.
The honour has gone to Lindsey Burgess, who took 507 votes compared to vice president Natasha Shelton’s 301 votes.
19 year-old Lindsey, from Harrogate, is in the second year of studying for a sports coaching degree.
She is a keen hockey player and active member of the Young Farmers’ Club (YFC), returning home for meetings of Felliscliffe YFC as often as her studies allow.
“Having been at Bishop Burton for a year I thought I knew enough about the college to stand for president,” said Lindsey.
“I am thrilled to be president; it will make this a very exciting year for me on a personal level but also be a real challenge to make it a good year for all the other students.”
