The College, near Beverley, is running specialist Access to Higher Education courses in Agriculture, Equine, Animal Management and Childcare from September.
Access to Higher Education courses prepare students for degree-level study. These one-year courses are designed to fit around the busy lives of people who have work or family commitments, but are nevertheless keen to gain a new qualification.
The courses are tailored specifically for;
- Mature students
- People who did not previously gain the qualifications needed to study a degree
- Those already in employment who want to broaden their skills
- Parents or people with dependent family members, who require a flexible teaching programme.
Life experience and maturity are considered real benefits to Access to Higher Education students.
Funding support may also be available to those enrolling on one of these courses. This includes the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. Students who go on successfully complete a degree programme get the loan written off.
Bishop Burton College’s Access to Higher Education Open Day will take place from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday, 2nd June. It will include a tour of the facilities, the opportunity to speak in detail about the courses and find out more about the financial support available.
