Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (Lifelong Learning) and Certificate in Education
Rebecca started her career in teaching and learning as an NVQ assessor, supporting adult students to achieve qualifications in English, maths and ICT. Although she enjoyed assessing, it was the small teaching aspect of the job that Rebecca got the most fulfilment from so she moved into a role that enabled her to do this full-time. For the last three years she has worked as a functional skills tutor for a local charity and says that completing her course at Bishop Burton College has helped widen her role by giving her the knowledge she needed to develop her courses.
Q: What do you like about Bishop Burton College?
A: The setting is very professional, with classrooms equipped with everything I needed. The LRC (Learning Resource Centre) was an invaluable resource, with very helpful staff available whenever I needed them. Communication with Student Services was also excellent.
Q: What is the best thing about your course?
A: Meeting other professionals who share the same passion and learning from each other to become even better at what we do. Since completing the course I am much more confident about my teaching and find it even more enjoyable.
Q: What are your hopes for the future?
A: My hopes for the future are to pass on my knowledge to others and share what I have learned with my colleagues. I would also like to progress onto the BA (Hons) course in education at the College at some stage.
