This course will provide an opportunity for you to sample both Health and Social Care and Childcare. You will then be able to progress on to your favoured vocation with greater confidence, allowing you to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required to progress on to Level 2 or for employment in your chosen sector.

One year full-time, normally in college three days a week.
Students who want to further their studies can progress to a Level 2 course in Health and Social Care or Childcare at the college.
Work in nurseries, care homes, children's play centres, schools, child minding, within at home care services, as a counselling assistant and many more.
A passion for the subject and one satisfactory reference is needed.

Lucy manages to hold down two jobs, working as an early years educator at a local nursery and also as a waitress, as well as her studies as she pursues her dream career working with children.
Q: What do you like about Bishop Burton College?
A: Bishop Burton College is a great place to learn. All the people at the College are really friendly. I enjoy my time here because the course is great and and the teachers are lovely.
Q: What is the best thing about your course?
A: One of the best things about my course is the work placement because you get to learn what it is really like to work in a nursery or school. The modules we do are also really interesting.
Q: What are your hopes for the future?
A: I hope to one day become a juvenile probation officer or a juvenile counsellor in America.
