This course is designed as a platform for you to get a broad range of knowledge and understanding around employability skills and requirements to support your progress into industry. You will also have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of animals over an intensive six month period, whilst preparing you for progression by supporting your development of employability skills or progression onto a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management, depending on your career goals.
The diverse and fascinating world of animals is growing all the time, making it an increasingly exciting industry to work in. This programme will allow you to gain experience with otters, wallabies, lemurs, reptiles, amphibians and many more. You will have opportunities to develop practical skills working in our state-of-the-art commercial kennels and grooming parlour. You will also have the opportunity to gain vital work experience in local animal businesses to develop industry knowledge and skills, try out the career you have set your sights on.

Four GCSEs at grade 3 or D or equivalent, preferably including Science, English and Maths, or a Level 1 qualification in a related subject. One satisfactory reference is also needed.
