BTEC Level 3 in Animal Management
There is nowhere in the country that can compare with Bishop Burton College’s Animal Management facilities and expertise, according to Callum.
He has benefitted from work experience placements at The Deep, in Hull, and a local veterinary practice but says it is the outstanding facilities, range of animals and expert tutors that make studying Animal Management at the College such a fantastic experience.
“We learn about animal welfare, animal science, legislation, law and how to look after animals – so all aspects really,” said Callum.
“We work with anything from mice up to wallabies, meerkats, lemurs and primates. My favourites to work with are probably the otters because they are so cheeky.
“It is a really well structured course and I enjoy the science aspect. The facilities are brilliant and the tutors are ace. I live on campus because I come from near London and there is nowhere quite like this. It is definitely the place to be if you want to work with animals, I would say.”
