Study Skills Support at UCBB

Study Support

Our Study Skills team will support you to develop learning strategies that suit your individual needs.

Whether you have a formally diagnosed disability or would simply benefit from additional guidance and mentoring to develop your study skills such as research and time management skills, you can access drop-in sessions or pre-book 1:1 tutorials.

University Centre Bishop Burton (UCBB) is committed to providing support to students to aid them in their studies. Our Study Skills team can assist with everything from understanding assignment briefs to statistical analysis!

Distance learners can access the service through email, telephone or webinars and video calls.

If you have a disability, learning difficulty, or long-term health condition, you may be eligible for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), which provides support to help you succeed in your studies. This could include specialist equipment, mentoring, or study skills support. UCBB offers guidance on how to apply for DSA and has staff qualified to provide 1:1 specialist study skills and mentoring support. There is a range of approved support providers, including ourselves, and you are free to choose your own provider. We are here to assist you in accessing the support that's right for your needs. For more information, you can contact us directly using the contact details below!
