Soil health is at the forefront of what we do, with the aim of leaving the land in a better condition than when we started. We are keen direct drillers (Weaving GD) and have been using catch and cover crops for a number of years and continue to develop and learn in this field.
Alongside our Allium grading facility, we also have a large, modern workshop on site with two full time engineers. We run a modern fleet of John Deere 6930/6150/6155 tractors, all with RTK steering which helps us to operate a Controlled Traffic Farming System (CTF) across the whole farming business. We also run two modern John Deere sprayers.
Irrigation is an essential part of vegetable production on our sandy clay loam soils, we use a mixture of rain guns and boom machines to carry out this operation.
Standard working hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm, but with plenty of overtime available during our busy periods including weekends.
Flexible on duration of employment depending on student requirements.
