The Employer

The historical and prestigious Elveden Estate is the seat of the Earl of Iveagh, Viscount Elveden. The Role

Renowned growers of onions, potatoes, parsnips and carrots, we are seeking students currently studying or who will be completing an Agricultural focused degree, who wish to gain "hands on" experience during the summer months. Opportunities are available in several geographical locations.

Predominantly working with the onion harvest, you will have exposure to various machinery, loading & transporting produce for grading and into storage. Students demonstrating real aptitude and enthusiasm, may also receive training on equipment requiring skilled operational handling and gain exposure to irrigation methodology. A full, clean driving licence is required.

You will need to be a team player, adaptable and very flexible in regard to working hours during this peak season. This is an amazing opportunity to develop practical skills and experience the lifestyle which is commercial produce farming.

Commencing in mid-July, we are looking for availability ideally until the end of October, but certainly into late September in line with the start of the new term if you are returning to University. Basic pay is £8.16 up to 40hrs with overtime being paid at time and a quarter. Accommodation is available.

*Permanent opportunities may be available to those having completed their education and who will have demonstrated exceptional skills at the end of the placement. Likewise, if you are continuing your studies, candidates who have displayed excellent aptitude will be invited to return for following seasons*
