The Balloon Tree is a soft fruit and vegetable farm that is spread across 28 acres of land. Produce is which is grown is then sold in the adjoining Farmshop and café. The season starts with Asparagus in April and ends with Pumpkins in October.

Laboratory Analyst

Avacta Life Sciences, Wetherby

You will be a key part of the AAH Laboratory Services team with input to the smooth and timely delivery of analysis performed by that team. This is a laboratory-based role and will require you to work in a safe and responsible manner, obeying the lab rules regarding sample handling and processing, safe storage and handling of chemicals and reagents and waste disposal regulations. The role encompasses a large amount of routine analysis and requires self-motivation and keen attention to detail.

Assistant Stockperson

Morton Grange Farm, East Harlsey, Northallerton

Salary/Wage: The rate of pay will be commensurate with the experience of the successful applicant but will be based on a salary of £20,000 per year. The person will be entitled to 28 days holiday including bank holidays.

Working Week: The normal working day is at 8am to 5pm (one hour for lunch 12-1pm). This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week.

The role entails assisting the Farm Manager with all aspects of pig husbandry as required under Red Tractor and RSPCA guidelines. The applicant will be required to drive the farm tractors and be required to load and stack straw bales; operate a muck spreader and muck out pig buildings using the farm telehandlers. Training will be provided where required.
