The Role

  • Interact with customers and suggest the best way to cook meat
  • Assisting with the procurement of meat and meat products
  • Preparation and processing of meat and meat products
  • Preparation and packaging of orders
  • Preparation and servicing and retail development of Castle Howards Farm Shop
  • Set up shop ensuring that all displays a well presented and items packed away using correct storage conditions
  • Issue and demonstration of safe working procedures for tools and equipment
  • Maintain effectiveness of tools and equipment
  • Ensure a safe working environment to meet Food Hygiene requirements
  • Ensure a hygienic working environment to Food Hygiene requirements
  • Cleaning down at close of day is essential and required

  • The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work independently without the need for close supervision
  • We are looking for someone who is a good communicator

  • A CRB check will be undertaken if you are successful for this role
  • Shift / evening work is required
  • Weekend work is required
  • The vacancy is based in a rural area and public transport links are minimal. You will need to ensure that you can access the employer and training provider in line with the hours of work.

Rates of pay:  

  • £6.00 per hour under 18
  • £6.56 per hour 18 - 20 years
  • £7.55 per hour 21 years +
