The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has confirmed the quality and standards of provision at Bishop Burton College following its review in October 2014.
A team of QAA reviewers visited Bishop Burton College and judged that its academic standards, the quality and enhancement of its student learning opportunities, and the quality of information about its learning opportunities all meet UK expectations.
The review identified a number of examples of good practice. These include:
- The strong partnerships at course level between the Higher Education team, students and teaching staff
- The wealth of opportunities for, and the College's openness to, receiving feedback from students.
The review also highlighted the deliberate steps taken by the College to effectively support students' progression from Further Education to Higher Education.
The review noted some recommendations for improvements. An action plan has been drawn up and can be reviewed here.
A successful review means that Bishop Burton College can display the QAA Quality Mark, indicating to UK and international students that the College meets national requirements for standards and quality.
The review team included Dr Ruth Ayres (University of Derby), Dr Philip Bassett (independent), Dr Anya Perera (Writtle College) and Caitlin Oliver (a student at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne).
