Additional Support
Bishop Burton College has often been praised for the level and quality of support that it gives to all of its students. Specialist support is available for people with diagnosed additional needs, through to less formal support to help students on every level of course with everything from note taking to working out percentages!
Those with learning or physical disabilities
The Student Support Team is very experienced with supporting students who have a variety of needs. During your interview we can discuss your specific requirements.
If you know you have a learning or physical disability or think you may have - don't let that stop you doing the course you want to do.
We can support students who:

- Are physically disabled
- Have a learning disability and/or difficulty
- Have a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia or dyspraxia

- With a long-term disabling medical condition such as diabetes, epilepsy, cancer, HIV, multiple sclerosis etc.
Type of Support
The College offers a range of support, which is tailored to the requirements of individual students. This can include in-class support, assignment support, study skills and access to Directed Study Workshops. Students may also be able to loan a range of specialist equipment for the duration of their programme of study.
Campus accessibility
The main part of the site is easily accessible. Lifts are in use for the two 1st floor areas. Specific requirements can be accommodated and adjustments can be made, if for example, coursework involves accessing parts of the farm etc.
