How To Apply
Part Time Education Courses - How to apply
The first rule is that "it's never too early to apply". You can apply at any time of the year, but the best time is the autumn term the year before you leave school.
You can apply directly on-line by clicking the Apply Online button found next to each course detail sheet here on the website or you can complete the application form supplied within our printed prospectus.
Once we have received your application we will arrange for you to meet one of the course team for an informal interview. You will be shown around the College, and you may even get a cup of coffee out of us as well!
If you are not sure either which course is right for you, or what area you want to study then we are happy to meet with you for an informal chat. Parents are welcome to come along to this meeting as well. To arrange an advisory chat, telephone the College on 01522 895390.
Part Time Education Tuition Fees
If you are a UK or EU student aged under 19 on the 31st August of the year you start the course then there are no tuition fees to pay. Students in receipt of benefits should contact us on 01522 895390.
Apprenticeships Tuition Fees
The good news is that all Apprenticeships for those aged 16 - 18 years and Life Skills/E2E courses are free of charge. An employer contribution is required for 19+ students.
The minimum age for entry on to the programmes in this prospectus is 16 years. Some courses have additional age restrictions. These are shown in the course entry requirements.
Riseholme College extends a particularly warm welcome to applicants from overseas. Overseas students should make applications directly to the College. Your local British Council Office or British Embassy can provide you with further details and general advice. Where possible overseas applicants should consult the British Council's Education Information Service, which will give advice on courses and application procedures. A publication that can help with making informed choices about study in the UK is 'Studying and Living in the UK' by the British Council, available from all British Council offices worldwide, www.britishcouncil.org, Tel. +44 161 957 7755. Information is also available from UKCISA:
The Council for International Education, 9 - 17 St Alban's Place, London. N1 ONX Tel: 020 7107 9922 www.ukcisa.org.uk
We will request different entry requirements for overseas students. You will need to show us that you have proficiency in English, and the qualifications that would be necessary to gain a place at a home university. We define proficiency in English as a minimum of 550 points in a TOEFL test, a minimum score of 6 in a British Council ELTS test, or a GCSE at grade C or above. The College asks that overseas students provide proof of sufficient funds to cover living expenses and fees before leaving their home country.
Please note: Riseholme College is unable to provide any help or assistance in obtaining a visa or sponsorship.
