Curtain falls on the FEI European Pony Championships 2010

As the sun came up on Monday 2nd August, Bishop Burton College's campus was a very different place to the International competition site it has been since the Monday before.

No national anthems, no young people playing horseball (minus the horses) outside York Yard and no crowds of people craning for views around the Championship and International Arenas.

Revamped Novice course tests competitors at College horse trials

A novice course put together by Blenheim designer Eric Winter and British Eventing regional director Chris Shaw tested riders at this weekend’s Bishop Burton College Horse Trials.

From 120 Novice competitors only four scraped through in the time and Section C winner Niki Otterburn headed up a list of riders who all gained time penalties in the cross country phase.

Former Olympic judge appointed as Dressage Technical Delegate for Championships

Former Olympic dressage judge Gotthilf Riexinger has been appointed as dressage Technical Delegate for the FEI European Pony Championships 2010.

The Championships are being held at Bishop Burton College between the 27th July and the 1st August.

Yorkshire Construction firm lends support to FEI European Pony Championships

Yorkshire-based building company Eric Bradley Construction Ltd have pledged their support to the FEI European Pony Championships 2010 after confirming their sponsorship of the event.

The East Riding firm will be one of the event’s main sponsors and have signed a five-figure deal with Bishop Burton College, the organisers of the 2010 Championships.

UK’s top riding talent attend Pony Championships Official Press Launch

Riders, coaches and officials from British Eventing, British Dressage, British Show Jumping and the British Horseball Association descended on East Yorkshire to showcase their skills before the FEI European Pony Championships, which will run at Bishop Burton College between the 28th July and the 1st August.

Members of the press were able to watch the riders in action on the College’s cross country course, on its brand new International Arena and in the Olympic-standard Bishop Burton Arena.

Bishop Burton College team take top spot in Equine Competition

A group of four students from Bishop Burton College are celebrating after taking first place in an Inter-College Equine Competition held at Warwickshire College.

The team, which included second year National Diploma learners Kerry Summerfield, Katie Ryder, Kelda Milliken and Kimberly Maw, took the top spot after competing against nine teams from other land-based Colleges such as Moulton College and Askham Bryan College.
