BTEC First Diploma in Countryside and Environment (Gamekeeping)

This course provides an important introduction to gamekeeping. It integrates a range of related subjects all of which have a strong practical emphasis and relevance to the gamekeeping industry.

Special Features
The college farm and estate extends to 409 hectares of arable, woodland, parkland and grass. Set-aside areas are planted with game cover. Learners will use this outdoor facility as a natural classroom covering some aspects of their work.
The most popular aspect of this course is the emphasis on gaining practical ‘hands-on’ skills throughout the course but you will be expected to complete assignments using IT.

Further study on a related National Diploma course, or to gain employment as an under-keeper on an estate, game farm or in pest control.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade D OR Level 1 qualification in a related subject OR “Life experience” will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students. In addition two satisfactory references are required.
