CACHE Level 3: Award/Certificate/Diploma in Childcare and Education
The programme
This advanced programme has been designed to meet the needs of anyone who would like to follow a career working with children. Particular emphasis has been placed on the development of the practical skills, in depth knowledge and confidence that are required when working with children.
What you study
AA range of units to prepare you for working with children aged 0 -16 years.
Examples of study may include: * Keeping children safe * Development from conception to 16 years
Special Features
Your attendance at College will be complemented with placements at high quality child care employers enabling you to gain and develop the necessary vocational skills and experience.
Learners may be offered the opportunity to additional qualifications such as First Aid.
People who take this course could go on to..
Work with children as a childcare practitioner in private nurseries, schools and community schemes. With additional experience students will be able to work towards becoming supervisors and managers in child care, whilst other students go on to work as nannies or children’s holiday representatives.
It is expected that some students will choose to continue their studies by following Degree programmes in Child Care.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grades A-C OR CACHE Certificate in Child Care and Education OR First Diploma/Intermediate GNVQ Health & Social Care OR “Life experience” will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students.
In addition two satisfactory references are required. As this programme involves working with children, a satisfactory CRB check.
